After 7 years of applying for a Wisconsin bear tag, I was finally awarded a tag for my unit in NW Wisconsin.  On this hunt, my nephew David Bakken came along to run "the big camera" while I filmed with the small home camera mounted on the Pro-Bow-Cam

The first day in the tree, we did not see anything other than mosquitoes...and there were plenty of them!  The second day we had a good sized timber wolf come in.  The wolf (an "endangered species" according to the federal government, yet we see them fairly often) hung around for almost 5 minutes and let us film him.

The third day had a storm front moving in which got the bears on their feet earlier and we had our fist encounter with about an hour of daylight left.  While he was big enough for me to shoot (I guessed 250-275 pounds) he ran off in fear before I got a shot oppertunity.  I soon learned why he was so scared.  Approaching my bait was a much bigger bear that was not ready to play with a smaller bear!

Once he got into the best position, David was rolling and my Pro-Bow-Cam was set right, I touched off my release and let the arrow fly...directly under the bear!  He ran off about 10-15 yards and looked back.  After a minute, he walked right back in and I nocked another arrow.  This time, my Rage broadhead buried right behind the shoulder and did it's job.

I was so happy to take a bear with a bow in Wisconsin.  Bear tags are hard to come by, but what made it even better was that the big boar weighed 365 pounds live, 300 pounds dressed.  I couldn't have been happier and having my nephew with me made it even more special.
